Resources From LinkedIn
I have been using LinkedIn to increase my automation knowledge and wanted to share how and some good people to share for specific topics. LinkedIn is like other social networks where you can follow topics, groups, companies, or people. What I have found most helpful are following companies and people. The reason for this is topics have given me too much data. Groups I have found have become a marketing platform and the data in them is fluff.
By following product managers and industry experts, you are hearing from the people making the decisions and to 3rd hand with a marketing spin. By following the company you are getting just information on the companies you want.
The below breaks down some good people to follow based on topics you want to know about:
- Aaron Prather is a Senior Technical Analyst at FedEx and posts on more than robots, but he does a great job talking about robotics. – https://www.linkedin.com/in/amprather/
- Tim Wilborne (and his family) run a training company. Tim posts exciting videos and content mainly about PLCs. – https://www.linkedin.com/in/timwilborne
- Dave Griffith is a member of a podcast that focuses on IIOT. https://www.linkedin.com/in/davegriffith23
- Chris Luecke is a podcaster who worked for Rockwell for several years and has a unique view and diverse group of guests on his podcast. https://www.linkedin.com/in/cwluecke/
- Jake Hall had great videos on how products are made and also posts topics on automation. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jacobrhall/ and https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-manufacturing-millennial/ (So much good content he has to post to 2 profiles)
- Tyrone Visser mainly talks about IIOT(MQTT, Node-RED, etc.) with Wago products, but very detailed and can be applied to other vendors. https://www.linkedin.com/in/tyronejv/
- Alicia Gilpin is focused on general automation content, but it is exciting posts. Also, a podcast host. https://www.linkedin.com/in/alicia-gilpin-ali-g-8675b322/
- Malachi Greb owns Elite Automation, a system integer with a YouTube channel that goes over how to do automation topics. https://www.linkedin.com/in/malachigreb/
I encourage you to follow all the above. If you have any other good people to follow please post them in the comments below.
